The process for DLA accreditation seeks to balance the requirements for a solid framework of essential tech competencies with the need to regularly incorporate emerging technologies and meet market demands.
The assessment criteria is evaluated and reinforced by the Accreditation Advisory Council (AAC); composed of tech entrepreneurs, education founders, and senior professionals from DLA Advisory Associates and Business Partners.
There are four stages institutes must undertake for a tech program to be awarded DLA accreditation:
1. Primary Stage
School expresses interest in accreditation then submits a formal “Letter of Intent” after consultation.
After review and approval, the school is provided with a formal “Application Form” and Registration Fee.
After revision of school eligibility, the institution is formally invited to become a candidate for accreditation and progress to the next stage.
Approximate duration of 3 weeks
2. Pre-Eval Stage
Upon candidacy confirmation, the school completes “Self-Assessment Form” (SAF) and Pre-evaluation Fee.
The SAF is submitted for review by the AAC Eligibility Committee, to be evaluated against DLA’s key criteria.
After revision and if eligible, DLA accreditation staff will inform the institution of eligibility and progress to the next stage.
Approximate duration of 3 weeks
3. Assessment Stage
Upon committee approval, DLA set dates for assessment panel visit to take place, with a 1-month notice for preparations.
The Assessment Fee and Self-Inquisition Report (SIR) are due 2 weeks before the assessment panel visit.
After the official assessment two-days visit, DLA sends Recharges Invoice to the institution.
Approximate duration of 4 weeks
4. Post-Eval Stage
Once the assessment visit is complete, the panel will produce a Final Accreditation Report (FAR), which is sent to the school for fact-checking.
After receiving School feedback, the report is submitted to the AAC Endorsement Committee for review and final verdict.
Upon committee decision, the school is formally informed along with a copy of FAR.
Approximate duration of 3 weeks
